Fuzzy New Year Cocktail

The world holds its collective breath in anticipation for the ball to drop in New York Times Square. Cheers can be heard in succession around the globe as midnight strikes, followed by the singing of the traditional ‘Auld Lang Syne’…an ode to the old times and a hopeful look to more good times ahead. People raise their glasses to cheer in the New Year and embrace their loved ones.

New Year’s Eve is the most celebrated time of the year, more than Christmas, Easter and Thanksgiving. The earliest known record of a New Year celebration, dates back to 2000 B.C. in Mesopotamia. It is a time to celebrate the past year’s accomplishments, relish in happy memories and ring in a new year with dreams of what’s to come. New Year’s Eve is the final hurrah of the year if you will, whereas The New Year is like a reset button…as the clock strikes twelve, a new chapter begins.

What better way to bring in the New Year with a much deserved celebratory toast right! I created this recipe for the love of Disaronno liqueur, cherries and champagne. This recipe is such a simple cocktail to make and is sparkly, sweet and has rich flavours of cherry and amaretto. So fill your flutes with this sparkling quick cocktail drink and Happy New Year everyone!!
